anniegirl76: Good point.
For example: Why not have a liaison committee that puts forth as much effort in looking out for the needs of victims of sexual molestation (child and adult)?
Are you listening WTBTS and you GB members?
coercion to refuse blood .
today i uploaded a new article to my blog documenting instances of inappropriate coercion to have jehovahs witness patients refuse blood.
the article clippings from the early 1950s are a must read.

on the news the other day they showed a young man after graduating from high school went out and got drunk and had a bad car accident.
he was paralyze from the waist down.
instead of going into deep depression of what he did to himself he started his life over and went to college and was involved in inventing a exoskeleton for disable people.
What would the world be like if everybody was a Jehovah Witnesses? The world would be expressing the disfunctional word 'WAAAT'.

'Coercion To Refuse Blood' is a good way to put it. Another title that would be appropriate is 'Bullying To Refuse Blood'.
Did Jesus ever use coercion or bully anyone? Nope. No record in the Bible of that type of behavior on his part.
Thank you again GB/WTBTS for your coercive and bullish leadership! Thanks for nothing.
Thank you Marvin, marvelous simply marvelous. You da man!

i have been an avid reader on this site for a few years and have weighed in on a few topics and introduced a few more without introducing myself.
for this i apologise.
the main reason for my reticence is that being a second generation born in but having been baptised in the 50s i will find it difficult to make an introduction without giving the game away.
Slidin Fast: Good to hear your story.
There have got to be a thousand times ten thousand of active JWs who are wrestling with the same doctrinal issues that you mention in your opening thread (1975, blood, generation). Not to mention disfellowshipping and shunning.
The list of seasoned, long-serving dissenters among JWs is difinitely on the rise, and risen.
Sounds like you have lots to share. Look forward to it.
i get really angry when i think of how the gb have callously allowed lives to be ruined.
protected child molesters.
caused deaths because of a weird blood doctrine.
i think i remember reading about this on the forum recently but i can't remember where.
can someone show me the exact quote?.
The WTBTS should follow its own advice. Pg 18 par 15 says in part ......'It is not our right to tell others how to run their personal affairs.'
if it were done by a group of children in school to another student the school would consider it a form of bullying.
are dubs bullying other dubs when they do this?
to me it seems like a form childish behavior that you would only expect to see in grade school..
i wish i had flipper's courteousness and minimus' blitheness.. syl.
at a recent assembly, there was a talk highlighting the dangers of higher education.
the brother used an example of a young girl who went to university, began going to bars, and ended up getting drugged and gang raped - as if this happens to every young jw who chooses to get higher education.. .
what ridiculous examples have you heard used at meetings or assemblies?.
There is the example that I've heard from the podium of why fear of one day getting DF'd shouldn't keep young ones from getting baptized anymore than fear or high likelihood of getting a ticket doesn't keep young ones from getting their driving license.
The difference is that if you get a traffic ticket there is traffic school to go to & the ticket gets erased ..........that quick, that easy with no pain. No embarrassment. No one shuns you. No public announcement. No need of waiting one year to get your driving privileges reinstated & then another year of restrictions. Not to mention that a young ones parents are always there to bail them out of any financial consequences as a result of the driving ticket.
What an idiotic comparison.
